Camelart‘s Designer

Catherine Davies is the artist behind Camelart, based on the tiny island of Lismore, off Scotland’s west coast. During Covid, she began drawing intricate scenes of island life on her iPad, using an Apple Pencil to capture the beauty and detail of this special place. What started as a creative outlet grew into a first colouring book, and from there the business took shape.

She discovered dye sublimation printing and began transferring her artwork onto mugs, magnets, keyrings, and souvenirs for visitors to Lismore. Over time, she has also created personalised designs for private clients, blending art with everyday items people can enjoy and use.

Now Camelart is growing again with a new collection: “Art in Your Ears.” These are aluminium earrings printed with designs inspired by famous artworks and artists through the ages. Each pair comes with a little note about the artist and the painting, beautifully packaged as a unique and wearable piece of art history.

Camelart is all about taking creativity off the page and into people’s lives — whether that’s a colouring book, a mug, or a tiny masterpiece hanging from your ears.
